Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Roma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roma comes to the cage accompanied by Breaking Benjamin - I Will Not Bow. Zero comes into a darkened arena with his song building. José the Bronx Rican - Spittin' Narcicism kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricky Roma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Zero! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roma throws a shot from downtown. Zero moves away and avoids it. Nice takedown defense from Roma. No joy for Zero on that attempt. Roma throws out a loose jab but Zero uses good head movement to avoid it. Roma looks to land a right hand but Zero moved out of range. Roma slaps away a takedown attempt from Zero, before circling back to the center of the mat. Zero fails with an attempt to clinch.
Zero scores with a one two! Roma had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Ricky Roma has been cut. The fighters circling - Roma throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Roma keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Zero has a takedown stuffed. Ricky Roma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Zero. Zero moves into the clinch. Zero tries to pull guard but Roma won't allow it.
Zero tightens his grip and picks Roma up, before dumping him to the ground. Roma manages to land in guard. Zero looking to pass the guard. Zero must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Roma wants to stand up but Zero is controlling him. Zero trying to control but Roma is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zero postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Zero looking to sit in guard and control but Roma gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Roma avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Roma is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Zero working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roma doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roma manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Roma with a nice head shot there. Roma tries to free his leg and advance position but Zero is retaining full guard. Zero is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Zero is working for a kimura here but Roma manages to reverse the position and he's now in Zero's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Roma's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roma stands and throws Zero's legs to the side, diving into side control. Zero is looking for a sweep. Roma working the ground and pound. Zero tries to buck Roma off but Roma is having none of it. Zero is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Zero looks gassed! Roma trying to control the pace. Zero has hold of Roma's hands but Roma slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Roma controlling the pace. Roma is keen to just control but Zero is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roma passes to side control. Zero is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Zero is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Roma's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Roma seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Roma is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! A nice elbow there by Roma. Zero is trying to stand up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roma changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Zero looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Zero gets back to half guard. Zero has a hand on Roma's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Roma takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Roma landing strikes, looking to finish! Roma cracks Zero with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Zero is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Zero is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Roma content just to control the position here. Zero is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zero tries to hold on but Roma postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee warns Zero that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Zero throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Roma unloading with bombs! Roma pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Zero flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Roma lands with some strikes. Zero wants to control but Roma is having none of it. Roma breaks from Zero's wrist control and lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Roma cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Roma avoids the attempt from Zero to control. Zero is trying to escape the mount.
A nice elbow there by Roma. Roma landing punches. Zero can't escape the position.
Roma with the ground and pound from mount. Roma is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Zero can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Zero tries to lock up and control but Roma gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Roma putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Roma has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Zero's face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Roma connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Zero regains half guard. Zero taking some punishment here, with Roma in his half guard. Roma trying to control the pace. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Roma lands a nice short elbow. Zero is staying active underneath Roma, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Zero trying to hold on to Roma's head to control him but Roma postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Roma works his way into full mount! Roma lands a big elbow. Roma working away from the top, dropping strikes. Roma lands a big shot there that rocks Zero but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Roma putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Roma looking to control but Zero is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roma shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zero as he jumps to the side. Zero throws a head kick that half lands.
Zero ducks right into an uppercut from Roma. Roma tries for a takedown but Zero circles away easily and Zero counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Zero. Zero stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roma swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roma is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Zero wants to stand but Roma has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roma keeping moving, preventing Zero from controlling successfully. Zero throws a strike but Roma rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Roma looking to pass the guard. Zero had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Roma defends it easily.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Roma fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zero sprawls well initially but Roma persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zero is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Roma pulls his head out easily. Zero tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Zero tries to roll over but Roma keeps him under control. Roma lands with a punch from half guard. Roma working over Zero with some ground and pound. Zero looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Roma working the head and body with strikes. Ricky Roma overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Roma is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Roma is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight! Ricky Roma showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Roma, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
