Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Ryno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Cogliano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Ryno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josh Cogliano!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cogliano throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ryno's waist but Ryno gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cogliano off to one side.
Cogliano throws a right and a left that Ryno avoids nicely.
Ryno throws a looping overhand right but Cogliano ducks down to avoid it.

Cogliano bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ryno avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Cogliano.
Cogliano lands a few punches from side control.
Ryno wants to control but Cogliano postures up.
Ryno is not content to let Cogliano control the position.
Ryno regains half guard.
Cogliano trying to pass the guard but Ryno defending well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cogliano wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ryno keeps working.
Ryno is trying to get back to full guard.

Cogliano decides to stand and escape the position.

Ryno drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Ryno is looking to take a break and control but Cogliano is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cogliano tries to improve position but can't.

Ryno is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cogliano is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ryno lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cogliano down.
You can see the frustration on Cogliano's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cogliano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ryno. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ryno is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cogliano knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ryno thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ryno tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ryno has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cogliano tries to escape but Ryno is in control.
Ryno looks up at the clock and then as Cogliano takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ryno smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Ryno cracks Cogliano with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cogliano is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Ryno tries to advance to mount but Cogliano denies him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ryno lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
You can see the frustration on Cogliano's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ryno misses with a looping right.
Cogliano throws a head kick but Ryno moves out of range.
Cogliano tries to clinch but Ryno is having none of it.
Ryno jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Ryno is tying to control. Cogliano wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ryno winds up and cracks Cogliano with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Cogliano is not content to let Ryno control the position.
Ryno frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Cogliano tries to reverse the position but Ryno maintains control.

Cogliano's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Cogliano is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Cogliano wants to control but Ryno is having none of it.
Cogliano is trying desperately to improve position.
Cogliano is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Cogliano's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler Ryno dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Cogliano tries to close the distance and clinch but Ryno swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cogliano moves into the clinch successfully.

Cogliano manages to break the clinch.
Ryno misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cogliano.
A big left from Ryno misses.
Cogliano is looking to clinch but Ryno is avoiding it.

Cogliano looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ryno!
Cogliano tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

Cogliano goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ryno turns into him and now he's in Cogliano's guard.
Cogliano wants to stand but Ryno is controlling the position.
Cogliano is breathing heavily.

Cogliano working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ryno doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ryno manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ryno might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ryno thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Ryno has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cogliano is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ryno is just riding it out for now. Cogliano eventually gives up the hold.

Cogliano fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ryno throws a head kick but Cogliano moves out of range.

Cogliano has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ryno is working away from the top position though.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Ryno is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Cogliano looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ryno gets his head over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Cogliano is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ryno lets go of the hold and Cogliano can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tyler Ryno!
