Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dwayne Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edwin Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Halo. The crowd seem to be enjoying Edwards's choice of entrance music: Whiskey Hangover. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dwayne Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edwin Edwards! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edwards closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Edwards pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Edwards misses with a looping left. Johnson wants to clinch up but Edwards keeps it at a distance. Johnson tries to clinch there but Edwards circles away.
Johnson stuffs the takedown. Johnson throws a series of punches but Edwards avoids them all with ease. Johnson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Edwards is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Johnson.
It looks like Edwin Edwards has been cut. Edwards stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Edwards wants it to stay on the feet. Johnson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Edwards was well out of range. Poor timing from Johnson. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Edwards, as that shot connected.

That's one minute gone in the round. Edwards tries to clinch but Johnson moves away and Johnson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Edwards is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Johnson throws a strike but Edwards rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Edwards looking to sit in guard and control but Johnson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Edwards has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Johnson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Edwards takes a jab right on the kisser.

He's got his arms around Edwards's waist but Edwards gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dwayne Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. A shot to the body from Edwards misses and Johnson counters with a left to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnson throws a hook to the side of Edwards's head but Edwards sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Edwards ducks down and throws a hook to the body. The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Edwards looks to throw the jab but Johnson is out of range. Edwards scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Edwards throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Edwards thows a huge punch but Johnson dodges it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries to kick Edwards off but Edwards keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Edwards is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Edwards seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Edwards wants to take a breather but Johnson is having none of it. Johnson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Edwards slips a nice elbow through Johnson's hands, connecting with Johnson's forehead. That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson is working hard here to advance position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Edwards lands a nice short elbow. Edwards has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Johnson is trying to stand. Edwards landing strikes from the mount and Johnson is in trouble! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnson is in all sorts of trouble here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson is squirming around, avoiding Edwards's attempts to control the action. Edwards lands a big shot there that rocks Johnson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Edwards slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Johnson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Johnson is looking to escape. Johnson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Edwards is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Edwards wants to advance to full mount but Johnson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Johnson is trying to control the position but Edwards postures up.

Johnson wants to control but Edwards is having none of it. Edwin Edwards is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Despite being in the dominant position, Edwin Edwards just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Johnson swings for the body but Edwards moves out of range.

Johnson is looking to wear down Edwards with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Edwards scores with a jab to the jaw. Edwards stuns Johnson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Johnson misses with a hook. Edwards leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Johnson misses with a telegraphed body shot

Edwards fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Johnson on the side of the head. Johnson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Edwards finds it's way round the side to connect with Johnson's head. Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
And that's the end of the fight! Edwin Edwards comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Edwards has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
