PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Bova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob has chosen Dragonforce- heroes of our time as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Bova!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, William Bob!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Bob does no damage.
No joy there for Bova, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bob misses with a head kick.
Bob misses with a double jab

and Bova counters with a shoot takedown. Bob fights it but they end up in guard.

Bob working for a triangle but Bova defends it easily.

Bob escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bova gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bova stands and steps away. Bob gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Bob misses with a combination
and Bova counters with a two punch combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bova blocks a head kick by Bob.
Bob throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bova.
Bob rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bova moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bova lands a really nice looking cross but Bob seems unphased.
Bob closes the distance and lands a one-two.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bova dodges the punch combination from Bob.
Bova has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Bob lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Bova has a takedown stuffed.
Bob throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bova shoots in for a double leg but Bob sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bova stuffs the takedown.
Bob lunges at Bova with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bova's hand.
Bova fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bob lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Bova slips under a jab from Bob.
No joy there for Bob, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bob misses with a few strikes there.
A head kick misses from Bob.
William Bob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bob throws a wild body kick that Bova sees coming a mile off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bova gets a clinch.

Bova manages to pull guard.
Bova not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Bob gets to his feet - Bova follows without any prompting.
Bob misses with a combination
and Bova counters with a big head kick but Bob shrugs it off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bob paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Bova fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Bova. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bova is breathing heavily.
Bob throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bova counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bob fails with the takedown

and Bova counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bob!
Bob squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Bova takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bob is desperately trying to improve his position but Bova has a good base and remains in mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bova wants to control the pace but Bob is squirming around nicely.
Bob working to try and regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bova controlling the pace for now.
Bob gets back to half guard.
Bob is pressing down on Bova's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Bob looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Bob had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bova defends it easily.
Bob wants to stand up but Bova is controlling him.
Bova stands up over Bob, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Bob keeping moving, preventing Bova from controlling successfully.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bob has his feet on Bova's thighs here. He's pushed Bova off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Bova screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
