Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Driver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Horner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Driver comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman -Metallica. Horner has chosen Roky Erickson - Stand For The Fire Demon as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Driver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Horner!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Driver takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Driver misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Horner works the jab nicely.
Horner staying out of range there.
Driver scores with a head kick.

Driver throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Horner was covering up waiting for the punch and Driver finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Driver looking to pass the guard.
Driver thows a big elbow that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Driver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Horner swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Driver controls from within his opponent's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Horner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Driver is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Driver trying to control but Horner is working from the bottom.
Driver prevents Horner from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Driver trying to move into half guard but instead Horner has managed to sweep!

Driver looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Driver is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Horner is aware though and is defending well.
Driver is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Driver throws his legs up looking for a submission but Horner uses it to pass to side control.
Horner wants to stand but Driver is controlling his arm.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Driver is looking to reverse the position.

Horner stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A cross from Driver lands.
Horner wants to land a leg kick but Driver is out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Driver feints and as Horner raises his hands in defense, Driver changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Driver scoring with punches to the head and body.
Driver loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Driver lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Driver trying to move into half guard but instead Horner has managed to sweep!
Driver looking to control.

Driver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Horner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Horner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Driver dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Horner lands a nice shot that snaps Driver's head back.
Driver tries to clinch there but Horner circles away.
Horner is looking to score with low kicks.
Horner connects with the punch.
Driver looks to land a body kick but Horner moved away.
A nice combination there by Horner.
Driver displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Horner throws out the jab.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Horner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Horner swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Driver fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Horner sprawls well initially but Driver persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Horner wants to get back to his feet.
Driver throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Driver is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Driver is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Driver is trying for a kimura here. Horner looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Driver wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mike Driver!
