Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ted Chips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucky Wasabi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wasabi has chosen Pokerface as his entrance music. Lucky Wasabi has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ted Chips's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ted Chips!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucky Wasabi!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wasabi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wasabi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chips moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Wasabi. No joy for Chips on that attempt.

Chips lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Wasabi doesn't manage to clinch there - Chips circles away.

Wasabi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wasabi. Chips does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wasabi stuffs the takedown attempt from Chips. Chips gets slowly back to his feet.

Wasabi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chips was well out of range. Poor timing from Wasabi.
Lucky Wasabi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wasabi throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Chips circles away from the clinch attempt.
Chips ducks right into an uppercut from Wasabi.
Wasabi misses with a body shot.
Chips ducks under a wild hook from Wasabi.
Chips fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wasabi avoids it really well and circles away.
Chips keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wasabi tries to land a leg kick but Chips saw it coming and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucky Wasabi dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Wasabi throws a body punch but Chips moves out of range.

Chips tries to keep at a distance but Wasabi has taken the fight into the clinch.
Chips drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wasabi gets the underhooks and prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chips slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Chips has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chips keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wasabi's head.

Ted Chips dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Wasabi slaps away a takedown attempt from Chips, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Chips feints and as Wasabi raises his hands in defense, Chips changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chips tries to free his leg and advance position but Wasabi is retaining full guard.

Chips sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Chips tries to roll over but Wasabi keeps him under control.
Chips is not content to let Wasabi control the position.
Wasabi slows the pace down in half guard.
Chips trying to hold on to Wasabi's head to control him but Wasabi postures up.
Wasabi is looking to take a break and control but Chips is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wasabi stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Chips takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Wasabi throws a body punch but Chips moves out of range.
Lucky Wasabi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chips looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chips displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wasabi throws out the jab.
Chips changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wasabi tries to avoid it but Chips manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wasabi to the ground. Wasabi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Chips. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wasabi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Wasabi looks to land a left hand but Chips moved out of range nicely.
Wasabi throws a leg kick which misses Chips's front leg but catches the back leg as Chips tries to avoid it.
Chips fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wasabi avoids it really well and circles away.

Wasabi swings for the body but Chips moves out of range.
Wasabi ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Chips misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wasabi.
Chips moves away from the strike by Wasabi.
Chips uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wasabi.
Chips throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wasabi's waist but Wasabi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chips off to one side.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lucky Wasabi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Wasabi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
