Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randall Theodoros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Frio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Theodoros comes to the cage accompanied by When Worlds Collide. Frio has chosen Ice Box as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randall Theodoros! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Frio! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Theodoros looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Frio circles away from the clinch attempt.
Theodoros shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fighters are battling for position here. Frio manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Frio wants to sweep but no luck. Theodoros has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Theodoros has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Frio is proving hard to escape from. Frio wants to sweep but no luck. Theodoros knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Frio on the ground. Frio wants to control but Theodoros passes easily into half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Theodoros misses with a body kick. Frio misses with a wild combination.
Frio gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Theodoros throws a strike but Frio rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Theodoros avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Frio tries to free his leg and advance position but Theodoros is retaining full guard. Frio throws a big right hand that misses. Theodoros has momentary wrist control but Frio slips an elbow through the middle. Frio content to stall in guard here. Theodoros wants to stand but Frio is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Theodoros is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Frio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Frio chips away with some ground and pound. Frio looks gassed! Theodoros keeping moving, preventing Frio from controlling successfully. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Theodoros looking for a sweep. Not yet Theodoros, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Theodoros trying to strike off his back.
Frio is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Theodoros is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Theodoros has escaped and now he's on top! Frio wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Theodoros wants to control from the top but Frio keeps moving. Theodoros lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Theodoros trying to control but Frio is working from the bottom. Frio is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Theodoros is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Frio pulls Theodoros in close to his closed guard and prevents Theodoros from doing any damage or advancing position. Frio is looking to sweep but instead, Theodoros has passed into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Frio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Frio is pressing down on Theodoros's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Frio is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Frio manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Theodoros manages to get himself to full guard.
Frio working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Theodoros's head. Frio sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Theodoros's guard. Theodoros has hold of Frio's hands but Frio slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Frio lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Frio in particular looking to stall. Theodoros tries to get to full guard but Frio has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Frio dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Frio is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Theodoros lands a knee to the head.

Frio is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Frio is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Frio is breathing heavily. Theodoros is working for a kimura but Frio is defending it quite comfortably.

Frio working for a submission but Theodoros is keeping him at bay. Frio postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Theodoros looks a forlorn figure.

Frio pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Theodoros is trying desperately to improve position. Theodoros wants to try and get back to his feet. Frio goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Theodoros is on top in guard.

Frio wants to control the pace but Theodoros is squirming around nicely. Theodoros is looking to improve his position but Frio isn't that keen on the idea. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Frio lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Frio has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Theodoros's face.

Frank Frio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Randall Theodoros seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Frio closes the distance and clinches. Frio swings wildly with an uppercut but Theodoros uses good head movement to avoid it. Theodoros lands a takedown into guard.

He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Theodoros has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Theodoros! Theodoros gets to his feet - Frio follows without any prompting. Randall Theodoros is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Theodoros tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A head kick misses from Frio. Theodoros has his takedown stuffed and Frio counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Theodoros defends it well. Frio wants to lay and pray for a moment but Theodoros keeps working. Theodoros lands with a few short shots to the body.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Theodoros taking some punishment here, with Frio in his half guard.

Frio closes the distance and clinches up with Theodoros, looking for a takedown. Frio pushes Theodoros against the cage but Theodoros circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Theodoros blocks a head kick by Frio.

Randall Theodoros has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Frio bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Theodoros's head backwards.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Frio comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Frio has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
