Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Brusko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dule Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Brusko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Brusko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dule Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peterson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Brusko is trying to control but can't.
Brusko moves into full guard.
Peterson wants to pass the guard but Brusko is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brusko controls Peterson momentarily but Peterson frees himself.

Brusko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peterson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Peterson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Peterson wants to stand but Brusko is controlling his posture from full guard.

Brusko working for a triangle but Peterson defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brusko is working an open guard so Peterson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Peterson looks gassed!

Brusko has managed to clinch.
Peterson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Peterson works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Brusko looking for a takedown.
Peterson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Brusko fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Brusko tries for a takedown but Peterson circles away easily
and Peterson counters with a right hand to the body.
Peterson misses with a takedown

and Brusko counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Peterson's guard now.
Chuck Brusko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dule Peterson.
Brusko passes Peterson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Brusko prevents Peterson from improving his position.

Brusko is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Peterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brusko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Brusko is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Peterson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Brusko pulls his head out easily.

Peterson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Brusko wants to pass to mount but Peterson is defending the position.
Peterson tries to roll over but Brusko keeps him under control.
Brusko tries to pass the half guard into mount. Peterson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Peterson wants to clinch but Brusko slips to the side

and Brusko counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brusko is thwarting Peterson's attempts to control the position.
Peterson wants to get back to his feet.

Brusko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Brusko tries to pass the half guard into mount. Peterson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Brusko is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Peterson defends it well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Brusko uses his free foot to push down on Peterson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Peterson.

Brusko jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Peterson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Peterson and Brusko has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Brusko tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Peterson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Peterson is trying to control Brusko's posture but Brusko avoids it.

Brusko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Brusko is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Peterson is trying to escape and Brusko transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Peterson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Brusko! Very nice indeed!
