Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Junk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sihara Mecks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Junk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sihara Mecks!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Junk gets the takedown into side control.
Junk trying to control the position but Mecks is working away.
Mecks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Junk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Junk throwing strikes but Mecks manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Mecks goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Junk has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mecks but great work by Junk.

Junk is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mecks has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mecks wants to get back to his feet but Junk drags him back down.
Mecks tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Junk working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Junk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mecks is letting Junk control him for a moment.

Junk tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
You can see the frustration on Mecks's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Junk has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Mecks!
Mecks tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Junk breaks from Mecks's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Mecks is looking to improve his position but Junk isn't that keen on the idea.
Junk has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mecks's face.
Mecks is trying desperately to improve position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Junk looking to secure an arm triangle but Mecks defends it well.

Mecks is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Junk locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Mecks is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jack Junk!
