Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morientes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Morientes has a takedown stuffed.
Bastos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bastos throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Morientes.

Evangelista Morientes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bastos feints and as Morientes raises his hands in defense, Bastos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Morientes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bastos circles away quickly and effectively.

No joy there for Morientes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A bone on bone clash there as Morientes blocks the leg kick.
Morientes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bastos moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Morientes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Bastos tries to score with a low kick but Morientes moves his leg out of the way.

Some wild striking there from Morientes.
Morientes throws a head kick that misses
and Bastos counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

and Bastos counters with a head kick. That will keep Morientes thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Bastos shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Morientes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bastos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Bastos looking to sit in guard and control but Morientes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Morientes is trying to control. Bastos wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Morientes lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Morientes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Morientes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morientes looks up at the clock and then as Bastos takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Morientes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Morientes is working Bastos over with some ground and pound from side control.
Morientes stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Morientes plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Bastos throws a lazy head kick
and Morientes counters with a one-two to the body.
Bastos throws a series of punches but Morientes avoids them all with ease.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Morientes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bastos looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bastos looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bastos!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bastos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bastos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bastos tries to get to his feet but Morientes is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Bastos in his guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Evangelista Morientes.
I think Bastos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
