PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kazual Havic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Rotten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Havic might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to psycho. Johnny Rotten is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kazual Havic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Rotten!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Rotten lands but Havic takes it in his stride.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Rotten. Havic shrugs it off though.
Havic circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rotten tries to move into range but Havic moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Rotten lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Rotten tries to clinch there but Havic circles away.
Rotten pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Rotten.
Johnny Rotten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rotten.
Rotten tries to clinch but Havic moves out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Havic crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rotten - the referee stops the clock and Havic gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rotten. Havic manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rotten wants to clinch up but Havic keeps it at a distance.
Rotten walks into a stiff left hand from Havic.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Havic shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rotten as he avoids it easily.

Rotten darts in and clinches Havic up against the cage.

Rotten stalls.
Havic tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rotten just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rotten looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Havic changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rotten fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kazual Havic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Havic chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rotten can pounce on him.
Havic avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rotten throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Havic is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rotten.

Havic looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Havic is breathing heavily.

Rotten manages to get to full guard.
Havic slips nicely into half guard.
Rotten regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Havic.

Havic throws a big right hand that misses.
Havic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rotten swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Havic won't allow Rotten to sweep him here.
Rotten avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Havic fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rotten avoids it really well and circles away.
Rotten throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fight stays on the outside here - Rotten looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rotten throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Havic's head.
Crunch! Rotten slams his shin into Havic's torso.

Rotten moves into the clinch successfully.

Rotten creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Havic's defenses.
Havic will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rotten comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Rotten creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Havic's defenses.

Rotten is pushing Havic up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Havic jumps into guard, dragging Rotten to the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rotten accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Havic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rotten doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rotten manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rotten advances to half guard.
Rotten looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Havic with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rotten is looking to take a break and control but Havic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rotten is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Havic is just riding it out for now. Rotten eventually gives up the hold.

Rotten working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Well Rotten has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
