Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Reyne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alvin Krespo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Reyne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alvin Krespo!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, David Schapiro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyne throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Krespo's waist but Krespo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reyne off to one side.
No luck for Reyne with that takedown attempt.

Reyne closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Krespo did well to prevent Reyne getting side control.
Reyne not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Krespo keeping hold of Reyne's head, controlling as best he can.
Krespo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Reyne stops Krespo from getting back to his feet.
Krespo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Krespo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reyne got a little sloppy there for a moment and Krespo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reyne has managed to get both his arms back between Krespo's legs - danger averted.
Krespo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Despite being in the dominant position, Alvin Krespo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Reyne shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Krespo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Krespo can't do much from the bottom here.
Krespo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Reyne wants to control but Krespo is keeping him busy.
Krespo keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Krespo is doing well to control the position and prevent Reyne from advancing to side control.
Reyne wants to lay and pray for a moment but Krespo keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krespo is controlling Reyne's trapped leg to prevent Reyne from advancing to side control.
Let's hope that Krespo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Krespo throws a sloppy head kick and Reyne moves out of range easily.
Krespo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Reyne counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Krespo has control of Reyne's left arm, preventing Reyne from doing any damage.

Krespo is looking for a triangle but Reyne pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason Reyne will probably get the nod.

and Krespo counters with a shoot takedown. Reyne fights it but they end up in guard.
Krespo throws a big right hand that misses.
Krespo trying to control the position from guard on top but Reyne is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Krespo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Krespo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Reyne working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Krespo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Krespo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Krespo is looking to work some ground and pound but Reyne has wrist control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Reyne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reyne is refusing to be controlled, as Krespo sits in half guard.
Krespo passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Reyne!
Krespo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Reyne's face.
BOOM! Krespo connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Reyne is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Krespo takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Krespo is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Reyne won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Krespo off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alvin Krespo!
