Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kendrell Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kendrell Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phil Hanson! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanson wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance. Johnson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Johnson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hanson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Johnson with shots to the head and body - Hanson looks very uncomfortable down there.
Hanson is rocked! Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hanson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hanson is still in real trouble! Can Johnson finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson thowing shots but they're missing. Johnson scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Hanson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hanson is trying to stand up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee warns Hanson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

A nice elbow there by Johnson. Johnson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Hanson is bucking up trying to escape but Johnson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hanson's face.

Johnson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hanson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Hanson fails with the takedown and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Johnson seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Johnson lands a nice short elbow. Johnson trying to mount his opponent but Hanson defends it. Hanson regains full guard. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hanson is controlling Johnson's posture. Johnson stands up over Hanson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Johnson stands and throws Hanson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Johnson landing a few strikes. That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson cracks Hanson with a big right hand but Hanson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Johnson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hanson, who protects the arm well. Hanson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Hanson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Johnson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Johnson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hanson has escaped the position, nice work there. Hanson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Johnson landing a few strikes. That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries for a kimura but Hanson is defending well. Hanson wants to control but Johnson postures up. The strikes coming from Johnson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Hanson fails with the takedown and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hanson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Johnson pulls his head out easily. Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Hanson has managed to free his arm - good work. Hanson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson works his way into side control. Johnson landing strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson has hold of Hanson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hanson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Johnson cranks the arm and Hanson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hanson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
