The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi lands with a shot to the body.
Gomi moves into range and connects with a jab.
Hitman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gomi is defending against the submission attempts here by Hitman .
Hitman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hitman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gomi fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hitman on the side of the head.
Hitman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gomi is fending him off so far but Hitman persists. Nope, Gomi circles away and we're back to standing.
Gomi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Gomi drops Hitman with a left right combo! Gomi follows him down to the ground into side control.

Hitman can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hitman is trying to improve his position.
Gomi wants to stand but Hitman has his arm trapped.
Gomi is staying tight to Hitman 's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gomi in side control, throwing shots but Hitman defends.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gomi lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Hitman takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Gomi cracks Hitman with a right hand to the side of the head.
Gomi connects with a looping right hand.
Gomi jabs at Hitman 's body.
Hitman takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gomi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hitman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gomi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hitman has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hitman and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Hitman takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Gomi scores with the left hand. Hitman knows he should have avoided that one.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gomi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Gomi cracks a nice hook into Hitman 's ribs.
Gomi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hitman looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hitman takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Gomi throws a combination. Hitman tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Gomi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Hitman gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Hitman takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Gomi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gomi connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hitman momentarily.
Gomi stuns Hitman with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hitman takes one on the chin but seems OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tanaka Gomi dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Gomi lands the left hand.

Tanaka Gomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hitman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gomi 's waist but Gomi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hitman off to one side.
Hitman seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Gomi shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Hitman is backing up but Gomi catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Hitman covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Gomi Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tanaka Gomi !
