Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Sehn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan A Besta!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A Besta gets the takedown into side control.
Sehn is looking to regain half guard here but A Besta keeps moving and retains side control.
A Besta tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The referee asks A Besta politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. A Besta prefers to stall for the moment though.
Sehn is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Sehn tries to get to full guard but A Besta has control of the leg.
A Besta not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
A Besta wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sehn keeps working.
A Besta wants to free his trapped foot but Sehn is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A Besta prevents Sehn from improving his position.
A Besta with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

A Besta is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sehn gets full guard.
A Besta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sehn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sehn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sehn is looking for a triangle but A Besta pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
A Besta looking to sit in guard and control but Sehn gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A Besta pulls Sehn in close to prevent any damage.

Sehn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sehn is breathing heavily.
A Besta wants to sweep but no luck.

A Besta has his hands on Sehn's head, controlling the position.

A Besta looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
A Besta trying to keep a closed guard but Sehn is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

A Besta shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sehn is trying to defend but A Besta finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

A Besta seems to be working for a kimura but Sehn defends the submission attempt.

Sehn is looking to improve his position.
Sehn is pressing down on A Besta's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A Besta tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sehn throws a head kick that A Besta semi-blocks.
Sehn could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

A Besta shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than A Besta was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A Besta is looking to work his way around to Sehn's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A Besta controlling the pace for now.

A Besta goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Sehn turns into him and now he's in A Besta's guard.
Sehn won't allow A Besta to get back to his feet.
Sehn with a flurry of punches that miss.

A Besta is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sehn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
A Besta looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A Besta looks for the body kick but Sehn saw that one coming.
A Besta misses the shot to the body.

A Besta shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Sehn has hold of A Besta's hands but A Besta slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee warns Sehn that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Dan A Besta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sehn checks a leg kick.

A Besta closes the distance and pushes Sehn back into the cage.
A Besta fails to pull guard.
Sehn misses with a knee strike.
Sehn tries to score a body lock takedown but A Besta shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A Besta has had enough of the clinch but Sehn keeps him there for the moment.
A Besta drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A Besta tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sehn just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rafael Sehn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan A Besta.

A Besta is looking to control Sehn's arms but Sehn gets an underhook and turns him. Now A Besta has his back to the cage.

Sehn has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. A Besta is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

A Besta has his foot on Sehn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sehn works his way back into a safe position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sehn throws a right hand that A Besta ducks under and follows up with a left that A Besta also avoids with ease.
