Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renato Duraes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Duraes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Drake! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drake is looking to clinch but Duraes is avoiding it.
Duraes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Duraes swats away the attempt to clinch by Drake. Duraes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Drake did well to prevent Duraes getting side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Duraes controlling the action here. Duraes looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Duraes connects with a nice short shot to Drake's temple. Duraes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Drake's head. Duraes scoring with strikes to the body and head. Duraes not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duraes gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Drake wants to clinch up but Duraes keeps it at a distance. Drake lands with a good body shot. Duraes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Drake defends it nicely. Drake is looking to clinch. Drake wants to clinch. Duraes misses with a takedown attempt - Drake sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Duraes shoots in and bounces Drake off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duraes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Duraes throws a big right hand that misses. Drake utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Duraes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Drake is looking to stand up but Duraes isn't so interested in that idea. Duraes makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drake preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Duraes is looking to work some ground and pound but Drake has wrist control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Drake lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Duraes at a distance.
Duraes is breathing heavily. Drake tries to close the distance and clinch but Duraes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Drake doesn't manage to clinch there - Duraes circles away.
Drake fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Duraes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Marcus Drake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Duraes takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Drake tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Duraes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Drake takes the fight into the clinch. Drake tries to land knees in the clinch but Duraes avoids the damage to the body. Duraes managing to block the knees to the body from Drake.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Drake misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Duraes.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renato Duraes. That's going to take a lot out of him. A short right from Drake. Drake gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Drake lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Duraes on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A short uppercut from Drake. Drake tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Duraes avoids it. Drake lands a damaging elbow. Drake trying to land knees to the body.
Drake stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. A nice left hand lands by Drake.
Drake is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Duraes is defending well for now. Drake works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Drake working some nice short punches in the clinch. Drake lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Duraes backwards. Nice elbow from Drake. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Drake digs a right hand underneath Duraes's ribcage. Duraes let out a lung full of air as it connected. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Duraes is trying to force a seperation but Drake has the dominant position. Still in the clinch, Drake scores with a nice short uppercut. A left hand lands to the body for Drake.
Drake has Duraes pressed against the cage, preventing Duraes from circling away and getting back to striking at range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Drake dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Drake fails in his attempt to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Drake looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Renato Duraes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Duraes is defended easily by Drake. Drake is looking to clinch but Duraes is avoiding it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duraes is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Duraes is rocked! Drake circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Duraes to the canvas! Duraes doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Drake keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
