PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gachik Kachikian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Adamovitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gachik Kachikian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adam Adamovitz!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adamovitz throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kachikian's head.
Adamovitz stuffs the takedown attempt from Kachikian. Kachikian gets slowly back to his feet.

Adamovitz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kachikian is trying to get back to full guard.

Adamovitz is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adamovitz looks gassed!

Kachikian kicks off Adamovitz and gets to his feet.

Adamovitz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kachikian's guard.
Kachikian looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kachikian manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Adamovitz is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kachikian unloading with bombs!
Kachikian lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Kachikian takes Adamovitz's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Adamovitz is in trouble.
A lull in the action here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Adamovitz is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kachikian gets his way!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kachikian punches the canvas rather than the man.
Adamovitz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kachikian. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
I really don't envy Adamovitz right now.

Kachikian working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Adamovitz is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Kachikian has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Adamovitz taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gachik Kachikian!
