Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boxing Bot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niclas Ekman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Niclas Ekman told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boxing Bot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Niclas Ekman! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bot looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Ekman looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Bot throws a push kick but Ekman slaps the foot to one side. Bot misses with a body kick. Bot throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Bot looks for the body kick but Ekman saw that one coming. Nice sprawl there from Bot as Ekman shoots in. Bot misses with a body kick. A thudding body kick lands there by Bot!
Ekman blocks the body kick.
Bot doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ekman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ekman. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ekman wants to pass the guard but Bot is keeping the position. Ekman won't allow Bot to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ekman wants to pass the guard but Bot is keeping the position. Bot is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ekman is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bot misses with a body kick. Bot fails with the takedown and Ekman counters with a single leg into guard. Bot didn't expect that. Bot is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ekman is controlling him. Ekman tries to free his leg and advance position but Bot is retaining full guard. Ekman prevents Bot from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bot trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Ekman drops back looking for a leg! Bot is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bot manages to kick Ekman off! Ekman jumps back into Bot's guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ekman trying to control but Bot is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bot looks for the body kick but Ekman saw that one coming. Bot throws a sloppy head kick and Ekman moves out of range easily. Bot lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ekman backs up against the cage.
Ekman blocks the body kick.
Ekman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bot swivels and escapes. Bot goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Bot shoots and misses and Ekman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ekman. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Niclas Ekman dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Bot throws a lazy head kick and Ekman counters with a single leg into guard. Bot didn't expect that. Bot keeping moving, preventing Ekman from controlling successfully. Ekman prevents Bot from getting back to his feet. Bot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ekman on the ground. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ekman wants to control from the top but Bot keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ekman tries to free his leg and advance position but Bot is retaining full guard. Bot wants to stand but Ekman is controlling the position. Ekman trying to control the position from guard on top but Bot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bot lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Ekman shoots in looking for a takedown. Bot tries to sprawl out of it but Ekman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bot manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bot throws the kick towards the body but Ekman avoids it. Horrible takedown by Bot or perhaps it was just good defense by Ekman which made him look bad. Crunch! Bot slams his shin into Ekman's torso. Bot misses with the body kick and Ekman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bot's guard now. Ekman is stalling in the full guard. Bot keeping moving, preventing Ekman from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ekman tries to free his leg and advance position but Bot is retaining full guard. Ekman is looking to advance position but Bot has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ekman is trying to escape the mount.
Bot can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ekman is looking to escape. Ekman tries to hold on but Bot postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Niclas Ekman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Ekman takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Bot looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Bot throws a push kick but Ekman slaps the foot to one side. Bot tries to land a body kick and Ekman counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Bot pushes Ekman off looking to stand but Ekman dives back in and keeps control.
Niclas Ekman has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ekman is looking for a kimura but Bot is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ekman to get the leverage. Ekman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Ekman has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bot defend it? Ekman steps over the head and cranks it - Bot is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Ekman!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Niclas Ekman!
