Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Janis Ozolins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uriy Sushkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Janis Ozolins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Uriy Sushkov! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sushkov throws a body punch but Ozolins moves out of range. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ozolins is defended easily by Sushkov. Ozolins shoots in and drives through. Sushkov sprawls well. Sushkov throws a leg kick which misses Ozolins's front leg but catches the back leg as Ozolins tries to avoid it. Sushkov drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ozolins is trying to control Sushkov's posture but Sushkov avoids it. Ozolins is looking to regain half guard here but Sushkov keeps moving and retains side control. Ozolins is not content to let Sushkov control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sushkov prevents Ozolins from escaping the position. Ozolins tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sushkov cracks Ozolins with an elbow. That is naaassty. Sushkov content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. No luck for Sushkov with that takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sushkov shoots and misses and Ozolins counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sushkov! Sushkov looks gassed! Ozolins landing strikes, looking to finish! Sushkov wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Ozolins.
Ozolins is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sushkov can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Ozolins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sushkov is looking to escape. Ozolins moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Sushkov has worked his arm free - good work by Sushkov!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ozolins trying to control the action but Sushkov is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ozolins tries to advance to mount but can't. Ozolins creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Ozolins tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Sushkov manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Ozolins is working for a kimura here but Sushkov manages to reverse the position and he's now in Ozolins's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sushkov won't allow Ozolins to sweep him here. Sushkov distracts Ozolins with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sushkov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ozolins wants to sweep here but Sushkov controlling him for the moment. Sushkov looking to pass the guard. Ozolins looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sushkov is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Janis Ozolins will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ozolins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sushkov. Sushkov shoots in for a takedown but Ozolins shows good takedown defense. Sushkov slaps away a takedown attempt from Ozolins, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sushkov thows a body shot but no joy. Ozolins moves in looking to clinch but Sushkov pushes him off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ozolins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sushkov sprawls well. Sushkov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ozolins gets slowly back to his feet. Ozolins shoots in but Sushkov avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Janis Ozolins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ozolins closes the distance and clinches up with Sushkov, looking for a takedown. Ozolins pushes Sushkov against the cage but Sushkov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ozolins closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sushkov circles away. Sushkov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sushkov slaps away a takedown attempt from Ozolins, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ozolins is looking to clinch. Ozolins is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Sushkov shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Still in half guard, Sushkov seems content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sushkov decides to stand up. Ozolins doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sushkov counters by moving into the clinch. Sushkov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ozolins jumps into guard, dragging Sushkov to the mat.
Sushkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Ozolins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ozolins throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sushkov trying to move into half guard but instead Ozolins has managed to sweep! Ozolins keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sushkov's head. Ozolins trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ozolins wants to control from the top but Sushkov keeps moving. Ozolins is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Ozolins wants to control from the top but Sushkov keeps moving. Ozolins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ozolins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sushkov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ozolins is in close to Sushkov's body, working some short punches and elbows. Ozolins stands and steps away. Sushkov gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Ozolins darts in trying to clinch and Sushkov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ozolins won't be happy with that. Sushkov trying to control the position but Ozolins is working away. Ozolins stops Sushkov from passing to mount. Ozolins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sushkov on the ground. Ozolins pushes Sushkov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sushkov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Uriy Sushkov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Ozolins gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The fight stays on the outside here - Ozolins looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ozolins throws a head kick but Sushkov moves out of range.
Ozolins fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sushkov avoids it really well and circles away. Sushkov wants to clinch up but Ozolins keeps it at a distance. Sushkov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sushkov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ozolins manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ozolins looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sushkov pushes down on Ozolins's leg and manages to get into half guard. Ozolins gets back to full guard.
Sushkov wants to pass the guard but Ozolins is keeping the position. Sushkov wants to control from the top but Ozolins keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ozolins looking for a sweep. Not yet Ozolins, not yet. Ozolins throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Ozolins wants to stand up but Sushkov is controlling him.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ozolins looks to land a combination but Sushkov avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sushkov ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Ozolins tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sushkov swivels and escapes. Sushkov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ozolins sprawls well initially but Sushkov persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Ozolins is trying to get back to full guard. Sushkov decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Sushkov throws a nice looking combination but Ozolins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ozolins gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Sushkov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sushkov. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Janis Ozolins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ozolins is looking to stand up but Sushkov isn't so interested in that idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sushkov wants to control from the top but Ozolins keeps moving. Sushkov tries to free his leg and advance position but Ozolins is retaining full guard. Sushkov controlling from the top position. Ozolins has his hands on Sushkov's head, controlling the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Uriy Sushkov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sushkov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
