Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Visconti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Rogers! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Visconti closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rogers circles away. Visconti fails with a takedown attempt. Rogers blocks a head kick by Visconti.
Rogers fails with the takedown and Visconti counters with a single leg into guard. Rogers didn't expect that. Rogers is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Visconti pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rogers is keeping the position for now. Visconti could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Rogers keeping moving, preventing Visconti from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rogers wants to stand up but Visconti is controlling him. Visconti postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rogers is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Visconti, into his guard. Rogers must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Visconti is on top in guard.
Rogers wants to stand but Visconti is controlling the position. Visconti is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rogers is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rogers has escaped and now he's on top! Visconti looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rogers makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Rogers tries to free his leg and advance position but Visconti is retaining full guard. Rogers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rogers working some strikes from top position. Rogers stopping the sweep attempt from Visconti. Visconti had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rogers defends it easily. Rogers thows a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Visconti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Visconti working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rogers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rogers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Rogers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Visconti. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Visconti is breathing heavily. Rogers scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rogers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rogers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rogers tries to stand but Visconti is controlling from the bottom. Rogers wants to pass the guard but Visconti is keeping the position. Visconti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Visconti wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment. Visconti has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rogers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rogers won't allow Visconti to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers with a nice head shot there. Visconti looking for a sweep. Not yet Visconti, not yet. Rogers stands up over Visconti, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Rogers postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Rogers trying to control but Visconti is working from the bottom. Visconti has momentary wrist control but Rogers slips an elbow through the middle. Visconti looking for a sweep. Not yet Visconti, not yet. Rogers postures up in Visconti's guard and throws a big left but Visconti blocks it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but Visconti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rogers trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rogers trying to control but Visconti is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rogers shoots for a double leg takedown but Visconti sprawls well. He's pushed Rogers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Visconti dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Rogers gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Visconti to score an easy takedown into full guard. Visconti wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving. Visconti throws a big right hand that misses. Visconti looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Visconti trying to control but Rogers is working from the bottom. Visconti content to stall in guard here. Rogers is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Visconti pushing down on Rogers's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Visconti is trying to control the action in half guard but Rogers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Visconti moves into full mount! Rogers won't be happy about that! Visconti can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rogers is looking to escape. Visconti is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rogers to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rogers shrugs it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Visconti goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rogers turns into him and now he's in Visconti's guard.
Visconti wants to sweep but no luck. Rogers lands a couple of digs. Visconti throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rogers postures up and lands a big shot to Visconti's brow. Michael Visconti overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rogers postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Visconti manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rogers keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Visconti is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rogers can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Visconti forces the positional change into back control. Visconti is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Rogers defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Rogers is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Visconti off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers wants to control his opponent's hands but Visconti gets his hands free. I would not like to be Rogers right now.

Visconti punches the canvas rather than the man. Visconti keeps control of the position easily here as Rogers tries to buck him off.

Rogers doesn't succeed with the takedown and Visconti counters with a takedown into side control. Visconti advances to full mount. Visconti goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rogers is on top in guard.
Visconti wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment. Visconti avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rogers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rogers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Visconti manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rogers manages to get himself to full guard.
Rogers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Visconti tries to free his leg and advance position but Rogers is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Visconti is pushing down on Rogers's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rogers is fighting to maintain full guard but Visconti has managed to sneak the leg through. Visconti wants to work for an arm triangle but Rogers is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Visconti is trying to control. Rogers wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Visconti with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Rogers is not content to let Visconti control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers is trying to stand back up but Visconti is controlling him
Rogers is staying active underneath Visconti, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Visconti not doing much here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Visconti tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Visconti tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rogers was well out of range. Poor timing from Visconti. Visconti drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Visconti trying to control the action but Rogers is working from the bottom. Visconti is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rogers is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Visconti looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Visconti tries to move to mount but Rogers blocks the move with his legs. Visconti has an Americana. Rogers didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Visconti is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Visconti hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
