The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leben throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Larson blocks a head kick by Leben.

Larson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Leben is fending him off so far but Larson persists. Nope, Leben circles away and we're back to standing. Leben moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Ed Larson has been cut. A head kick misses from Leben. Chris Leben seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Larson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Larson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Larson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Leben tries to improve position but can't. Leben wants to get back to his feet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Larson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Leben has escaped the position, nice work there. Larson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leben tries to buck Larson off but Larson is having none of it. Leben is working hard here to advance position. Leben pushes Larson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Larson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Larson tries for a kimura but Leben is defending well. Larson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Larson looks gassed! Leben is looking to regain half guard here but Larson keeps moving and retains side control. Larson in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Leben is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
