Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gattsu Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Knockyo Assout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes into the arena with Contender blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Assout's choice of entrance music: Mamma Said Knock You Out. Assout has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Gattsu Emelianenko could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Knockyo Assout's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gattsu Emelianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Knockyo Assout! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko throws a series of punches but Assout moves out of range. Emelianenko scores with a jab to the head.
It looks like Knockyo Assout has been cut. Emelianenko drives through with a takedown into guard. Emelianenko showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Emelianenko advances to half guard. Assout is looking for a sweep. Emelianenko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Emelianenko performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Assout is trying to stand back up but Emelianenko is controlling him
Assout looks gassed! Emelianenko thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Assout's head. Emelianenko tries to pass the half guard into mount. Assout knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Emelianenko is working for a kimura but Assout is defending it quite comfortably.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Gattsu Emelianenko just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Assout swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Emelianenko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Assout misses with a double jab
and Emelianenko counters with a crisp one two that drops Assout! Emelianenko thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Assout to his feet! Assout is in big trouble!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Assout misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Emelianenko.
Assout takes a shot right to the bread basket. Emelianenko fails to land with a series of punches.
Emelianenko lands a really nice looking cross but Assout seems unphased.
Emelianenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Assout circles away quickly and effectively. Emelianenko misses with a combination
and Assout connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Emelianenko lands with a shot to the body. Emelianenko drops Assout with a beautiful combination! Assout stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Emelianenko is looking for the KO! Some wild striking there from Emelianenko.
Emelianenko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Emelianenko scores a takedown into full mount! Emelianenko controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gattsu Emelianenko dominated that round. The cut man is working on Knockyo Assout's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Assout takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. No joy there for Emelianenko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Emelianenko scores with a one two! Assout had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Emelianenko closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Assout did well to prevent Emelianenko getting side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Emelianenko tries to pass to full mount but Assout defends it. Emelianenko passes to full mount! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Assout wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko looking to control and managing it successfully. Emelianenko is trying to take his opponent's back.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Emelianenko has control of Assout's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Assout regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Emelianenko controlling his opponent. Emelianenko jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Assout is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Assout and Emelianenko has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Assout is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Emelianenko controlling from mount. Emelianenko's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emelianenko sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Assout tries to lock up and control but Emelianenko gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Assout has given up his back here. Will Emelianenko look for the submission or keep pounding away?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gattsu Emelianenko dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Knockyo Assout's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Emelianenko goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Emelianenko lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Assout backs up against the cage.
Emelianenko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Assout's guard. Emelianenko stays in close to Assout's body and controls the position. Emelianenko looking to pass the guard. Assout can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Emelianenko controls the pace. Emelianenko pushes down on Assout's leg and manages to get into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko is taking a breather. Assout says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Assout is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Emelianenko controlling the pace. Emelianenko has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Gattsu Emelianenko just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Emelianenko misses with a double jab.
Emelianenko uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Assout. Emelianenko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Assout sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Emelianenko somewhat. Knockyo Assout has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Assout stuffs the takedown attempt from Emelianenko. Emelianenko gets slowly back to his feet. Assout looks to land a combination but Emelianenko avoids it well. Emelianenko keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Assout. Gattsu Emelianenko is winning the standup battle so far. No joy there for Emelianenko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gattsu Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Emelianenko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Emelianenko throws a body punch but Assout moves out of range. Assout takes a jab right on the kisser.
Assout takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Assout gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Emelianenko to score an easy takedown into full guard. Emelianenko is standing up over Assout. Assout looks to escape but Emelianenko dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko taking a breather here. Sloppy strikes there by Emelianenko. Emelianenko in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Emelianenko advances to full mount. Emelianenko sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Gattsu Emelianenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
And that's the end of the fight! Gattsu Emelianenko showed his dominance in that final round. Well Emelianenko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
