The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suzuki manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Suzuki tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hoberman smiles and moves away.
Hoberman thuds his right hand into Suzuki's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Suzuki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hoberman misses with a hook.
Hoberman gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Suzuki circles away from the clinch attempt.

Suzuki is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Suzuki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hoberman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Suzuki somewhat.

and Hoberman counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Suzuki is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Hoberman wants to clinch
and Suzuki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Suzuki throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hoberman tries to clinch there but Suzuki circles away.
A head kick misses from Hoberman.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Suzuki shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hoberman napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hoberman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Suzuki is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hoberman manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Suzuki in particular looking to stall.
Hoberman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Suzuki is taking a breather. Hoberman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hoberman looks like he's trying to stand up.

Mitch Hoberman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
