Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Zeitzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Wanhanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wanhanen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Mina olen by Kotiteollisuus. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Zeitzer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matti Wanhanen! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wanhanen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Zeitzer throws out the jab. Zeitzer throws the kick towards the body but Wanhanen avoids it. Excellent takedown into side control there by Wanhanen. You can see the frustration on Zeitzer's face as Wanhanen controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. I looks like Wanhanen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Wanhanen working away. Zeitzer tries to buck Wanhanen off but Wanhanen is having none of it. Zeitzer is being controlled here. Zeitzer is not content to let Wanhanen control the position. Wanhanen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zeitzer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A big right from Zeitzer misses. Zeitzer walks into a straight right hand from Wanhanen. Zeitzer avoids the head kick by Wanhanen.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Zeitzer misses with a double jab.
Wanhanen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Zeitzer. Wanhanen looks to score with a jab to the body but Zeitzer is just out of range. Zeitzer throws a hook but Wanhanen blocks it. Wanhanen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zeitzer.

Zeitzer throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Zeitzer takes a jab right on the kisser.
Wanhanen cracks Zeitzer with a good jab. Wanhanen scores with a jab to the body. Zeitzer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Wanhanen. Wanhanen lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Zeitzer backs up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wanhanen shoots in and bounces Zeitzer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Wanhanen preventing the sweep. Wanhanen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wanhanen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Zeitzer looking for a sweep. Not yet Zeitzer, not yet. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Zeitzer holds on and takes a little breather. Wanhanen trying to control the position from guard on top but Zeitzer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wanhanen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Zeitzer listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Matti Wanhanen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wanhanen scores with a hook to the body. Zeitzer takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Wanhanen lands a high kick!

Matti Wanhanen dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Zeitzer looks to land a right hand but Wanhanen moved out of range. Zeitzer slips a jab and a cross from Wanhanen.
Zeitzer shoots for a double leg takedown but Wanhanen sprawls well. He's pushed Zeitzer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wanhanen throws a series of punches but Zeitzer moves out of range. Wanhanen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wanhanen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Zeitzer has escaped the position, nice work there. Wanhanen controls the position. Let's hope that Wanhanen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wanhanen passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Zeitzer! Wanhanen controlling from mount. Wanhanen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Zeitzer is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zeitzer tries to hold on but Wanhanen postures up. Wanhanen controlling his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Wanhanen trying to control but Zeitzer is having none of it. Wanhanen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Zeitzer has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Zeitzer! Wanhanen working for a triangle but Zeitzer defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wanhanen keeping full guard, as Zeitzer tries to pass. Wanhanen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zeitzer manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wanhanen looking to pass the guard. Wanhanen with a flurry of punches that miss. Zeitzer looking to control.
Wanhanen trying to control but Zeitzer is working from the bottom. Zeitzer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wanhanen on the ground. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Matti Wanhanen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Wanhanen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zeitzer was covering up waiting for the punch and Wanhanen finishes the takedown easily into guard. Wanhanen content to stall in guard here. Wanhanen looking to pass the guard. Zeitzer keeping moving, preventing Wanhanen from controlling successfully. Wanhanen trying to control but Zeitzer is working from the bottom. Zeitzer keeping full guard, as Wanhanen tries to pass. Zeitzer wants to stand up but Wanhanen is controlling him.

Wanhanen throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Zeitzer's head. Zeitzer takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Zeitzer thows a left - swing and a miss! Wanhanen lands a slapping body shot.
Nice straight punches there by Zeitzer. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Zeitzer. Wanhanen scores with a jab to the body. Wanhanen fails with a takedown attempt. Zeitzer avoids the body shot from Wanhanen.
Zeitzer connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Wanhanen misses with a takedown attempt and Zeitzer counters with a left and a right that stings Wanhanen. Wanhanen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zeitzer is one step ahead there. Wanhanen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Zeitzer! Wanhanen wants to control the pace but Zeitzer is squirming around nicely. Wanhanen looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Matti Wanhanen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Wanhanen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
