Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Chase! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Russell Jacobs! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs doesn't manage to clinch there - Chase circles away.
Chase shoots in but no luck this time. Jacobs fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jacobs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chase circles away quickly and effectively. Chase fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jacobs throws a series of strikes that have Chase backpedaling.
It looks like Mark Chase has been cut. Chase uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jacobs.
Jacobs lands with a nice combination. Chase backs away looking to recover. Jacobs moves in looking to clinch but Chase pushes him off. Excellent takedown into side control there by Chase. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chase working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Chase tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jacobs manages to work his way to half guard, despite Chase's best efforts.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Jacobs is not content to let Chase control the position. Chase prevents Jacobs from standing back up.
Chase is looking for a kimura here.
Chase seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Jacobs is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
