PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Foolery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fransuave Doobney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doobney has chosen L_TIz# as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Tom Foolery has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Foolery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fransuave Doobney!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doobney shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Foolery moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Doobney wants to control from the top but Foolery keeps moving.
Foolery trying to keep a closed guard but Doobney is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doobney controlling from the top position.
I looks like Doobney might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Doobney throwing strikes from guard but Foolery blocks nicely.

Foolery is looking for a triangle here but Doobney uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Foolery is trying to control Doobney's posture but Doobney avoids it.
Foolery is looking for a sweep.

Doobney decides to stand back up. Doobney steps back and let's Foolery get back to his feet.

Doobney changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Foolery looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Foolery is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doobney stands up.
Doobney tries to clinch but Foolery is having none of it.

Doobney shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Foolery napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Foolery is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Doobney is looking to take a break and control but Foolery is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Doobney not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Doobney seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Doobney missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Foolery is looking to improve his position.

Foolery looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Foolery is looking for a sweep. Doobney is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Foolery is pressing down on Doobney's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Foolery working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Doobney doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Doobney manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Doobney pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Foolery is keeping the position for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Doobney throws a nice looking combination but Foolery bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Doobney tries to close the distance and clinch but Foolery swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Doobney looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Doobney has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Doobney wants to control from the top but Foolery keeps moving.
Foolery is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Doobney makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Doobney.
Doobney wants to sweep here but Foolery controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fransuave Doobney dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Foolery wants to control but Doobney is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Doobney prevents Foolery from getting the reversal.
Doobney throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Foolery because Doobney loaded up on that one.
Doobney misses with a head shot.
Doobney avoids the attempt from Foolery to control.
Foolery can't escape the position.
Doobney tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Foolery is working to get back to half guard.

Foolery blocking the ground and pound.
Foolery is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Foolery has given up his back here.

Doobney has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Foolery! Can he survive? No! He's out! Doobney gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
