PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between London Saint James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magnus Wolfe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saint James comes to the cage accompanied by Rocky Road To Dublin. Wolfe has chosen Led Zeppelin, Immigrant Song as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Saint James. No joy for Wolfe on that attempt.
Wolfe scores with a spinning back kick!
Wolfe fails with the takedown.

Saint James looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Wolfe manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Saint James moves into range and clinches up with Wolfe.
Wolfe drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
London Saint James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Magnus Wolfe.
Wolfe jumps guard but Saint James stands there with Wolfe around his waist. Wolfe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Saint James wants to get back to striking at distance but Wolfe won't allow it.

Wolfe has Saint James pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Wolfe pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Saint James tumbling to the mat - Wolfe dives into Saint James's guard.

Wolfe drops back looking for a leg! Saint James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Saint James manages to kick Wolfe off! Wolfe jumps back into Saint James's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Saint James is on top in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Saint James lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Saint James accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Saint James won't allow Wolfe to get back to his feet.

Wolfe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Saint James gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Saint James is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Wolfe is trying to keep Saint James in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Saint James closes the distance and pushes Wolfe back into the cage.
Saint James lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Saint James looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Wolfe wants a takedown.

Wolfe decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Saint James, up you get!

Wolfe shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Saint James is trying to defend but Wolfe finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wolfe takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Wolfe is trying to control the action in half guard but Saint James is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Wolfe thows a huge punch but Saint James dodges it nicely.

Wolfe is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Saint James defends it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close round but Magnus Wolfe will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Wolfe feints and as Saint James raises his hands in defense, Wolfe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wolfe wants to stand but Saint James has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Saint James wants to sweep here but Wolfe controlling him for the moment.

Wolfe postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Saint James will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wolfe is looking to stand up but Saint James won't let him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wolfe drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Wolfe seems to have locked his on tight now - Saint James screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Wolfe, as he picks up the win!
