Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mr Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Czolgosz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leon Czolgosz! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Czolgosz takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Guy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Guy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Guy tries to free his leg and advance position but Czolgosz is retaining full guard. Guy throws a big right hand that misses. Czolgosz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Guy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Guy trying to control the position from guard on top but Czolgosz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Guy is looking to work some ground and pound but Czolgosz has wrist control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Czolgosz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Czolgosz is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Guy is surviving well by controlling Czolgosz's body position as best he can. Czolgosz jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Guy manages to avoid the submission attempt. Guy is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Czolgosz's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Guy gets full guard. Guy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Czolgosz preventing the sweep. Czolgosz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Guy wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Czolgosz postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Czolgosz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guy is trying to improve his position. Czolgosz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Guy has escaped the position, nice work there. Guy is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Mr Guy will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Czolgosz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Czolgosz prevents Guy from escaping the position. Guy can't do much from the bottom here. Czolgosz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Czolgosz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Czolgosz wants to control but Guy is keeping him busy. Guy tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guy is not content to let Czolgosz control the position. Guy is looking to reverse the position. Czolgosz is looking to take a break and control but Guy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Guy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Czolgosz moves away. Leon Czolgosz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Czolgosz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Guy to the mat! Guy manages to get full guard. Czolgosz trying to control but Guy is working from the bottom. Guy throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Guy controls Czolgosz momentarily but Czolgosz frees himself. Guy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Czolgosz is one step ahead there. Guy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Guy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Czolgosz defends it easily. Guy looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Czolgosz passes into half guard.

Guy is trying to reverse the position but instead Czolgosz has taken his back - oops! Czolgosz is landing with strikes from the back. Guy defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

Leon Czolgosz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Guy looks to land a right hand but Czolgosz moved out of range. Guy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Czolgosz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Guy keeping moving, preventing Czolgosz from controlling successfully. Guy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Czolgosz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Guy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Guy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Guy! Czolgosz is trying to control Guy's posture but Guy avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Czolgosz keeps working. Guy goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Czolgosz has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Guy but great work by Czolgosz. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Guy tries to improve position but can't. Czolgosz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Guy sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Guy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Czolgosz is working for a submission of some sort.

Czolgosz passes easily into side control. Nice work. Guy is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Guy sneaks back into half guard. Guy tries to get to full guard but Czolgosz has control of the leg. Guy is pressing down on Czolgosz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Guy is staying active underneath Czolgosz, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Czolgosz winds up and cracks Guy with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Czolgosz is working for a kimura but Guy is defending it quite comfortably.
Guy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Czolgosz is working away from the top position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Guy tries to regain full guard. A close third round but Leon Czolgosz just about did enough to take it. That's time! Guy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Czolgosz with a poor takedown and Guy counters with a shoot takedown. Czolgosz fights it but they end up in guard. Guy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Czolgosz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Czolgosz lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Guy! It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Czolgosz is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Guy to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Guy shrugs it off.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Czolgosz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Guy tries to get to full guard but Czolgosz has control of the leg. Guy works his way to full guard. Good work. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Czolgosz has his takedown stuffed and Guy counters with a stiff right hand. Guy throws an overhand right that lands on Czolgosz's shoulder, as Czolgosz tries to avoid the shot. Guy wants to clinch up but Czolgosz keeps it at a distance.

Czolgosz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Guy was covering up waiting for the punch and Czolgosz finishes the takedown easily into guard. Czolgosz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Guy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Czolgosz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Guy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Czolgosz wants to control but Guy is keeping him busy. Czolgosz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Czolgosz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Guy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Guy trying to control but Czolgosz postures up.
Czolgosz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Guy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Czolgosz. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Czolgosz avoids the strikes from Guy. Czolgosz covering up well under a series of strikes from Guy. Guy somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A lull in the action here.

And that's the end of the fight! Leon Czolgosz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Czolgosz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
