Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Woodie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Woodie!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Woodie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ross's guard.
Ross wants to sweep here but Woodie controlling him for the moment.
Woodie wants to control from the top but Ross keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ross has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Woodie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Woodie drops back looking for a leg! Ross is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ross manages to kick Woodie off! Woodie jumps back into Ross's guard.

Woodie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ross is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ross has escaped and now he's on top!

Ross postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Woodie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ross, into his guard.
Woodie passes Ross's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ross trying to hold on to Woodie's head to control him but Woodie postures up.
Ground and pound from Woodie.
Woodie looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Ross tries to get to full guard but Woodie has control of the leg.
Woodie has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ross stops Woodie from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Woodie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ross is looking to escape.

Woodie looking for a guillotine from mount but Ross is having none of it.
Woodie looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Woodie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ross has worked his arm free - good work by Ross!
Woodie tries to advance to mount but can't.
Ross is not content to let Woodie control the position.

Woodie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ross regains half guard.

Woodie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Woodie wants to take a breather but Ross is having none of it.
Woodie has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ross keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Ross tries to hold on but Woodie postures up.
Woodie looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.


Ross is rocked!
Woodie is landing with some decent strikes but Ross is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Oh Ross is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Woodie throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Woodie trying to control but Ross is having none of it.
Woodie should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Woodie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ross kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Woodie throws some wild stikes that Ross manages to avoid easily.

Woodie working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ross wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Woodie.

Woodie with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Woodie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ross has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Woodie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ross is fending him off so far but Woodie persists. Nope, Ross circles away and we're back to standing.
Steve Ross is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ross avoids the head kick by Woodie.
Ross slips a jab and a cross from Woodie.

Horrible takedown by Woodie or perhaps it was just good defense by Ross which made him look bad.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ross stuffs the takedown.
Woodie swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Woodie has a takedown stuffed.
Woodie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ross's waist but Ross gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Woodie off to one side.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Woodie.
Woodie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Woodie tries a head kick but it misses.
Woodie shoots in but Ross avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Woodie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ross tries to avoid it but Woodie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ross to the ground. Ross escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Woodie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ross uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Woodie.
Ross steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Woodie.
Woodie tries for a takedown but Ross sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Woodie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ross but Ross pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Woodie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ross pinned against the cage. Ross gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Woodie fails with the takedown.
Woodie throws a right hand that Ross ducks under and follows up with a left that Ross also avoids with ease.
Woodie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ross as he avoids it easily.
Woodie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Woodie tries to clinch there but Ross circles away.
No luck for Woodie with that takedown attempt.
Woodie misses with a series of wild punches.
Woodie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ross as he jumps to the side.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Woodie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Woodie shoots in but no luck this time.
Woodie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ross keeps the fight on the outside.
Woodie throws a nice looking combination but Ross bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Woodie shoots in looking for a takedown. Ross tries to sprawl out of it but Woodie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ross manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Woodie throws a jab but it's blocked by Ross.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Woodie.
Woodie fails in his attempt to clinch.
Woodie closes the distance and clinches up with Ross, looking for a takedown. Woodie pushes Ross against the cage but Ross circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Woodie swings for the body but Ross moves out of range.
Ross is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Woodie can do to turn this around?
Woodie misses with the combination.
Woodie throws a right hand that Ross ducks under and follows up with a left that Ross also avoids with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Ross dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Ross fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ross tries to close the distance and clinch up but Woodie swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Woodie shoots and scores a devastating slam takedown! Ross is unconscious as Woodie celebrates over his stricken foe!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Jeremy Woodie!
