And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Vries fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Gracie. No joy for de Vries on that attempt.
de Vries attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
de Vries scores with a body shot.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt
and de Vries counters with a head kick.
Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming de Vries to the mat! de Vries manages to get full guard.
Gracie drops back looking for a leg! de Vries is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and de Vries manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into de Vries's guard.
de Vries wants to hit a switch here but Gracie passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for de Vries there!
de Vries really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
de Vries working to try and regain half guard.

Gracie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. de Vries can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Gracie moves to take his opponent's back.
Gracie tightening his grip on de Vries, looking for the choke.
de Vries is trying to break free.
de Vries is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Gracie keeps control of the position as de Vries tries to break free.
de Vries is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gracie off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
de Vries is trying to stand back up.
Gracie has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, de Vries has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Gracie working for a choke but de Vries is defending well.
Gracie is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
de Vries is trying to break free.

de Vries is trying to defend against the choke here but Gracie has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Gracie Tightens the hold and de Vries taps out furiously! Gracie displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
