Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elliot Stabler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Stabler's choice of entrance music: Grown Men Don't Cry. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Elliot Stabler enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stabler has a takedown stuffed. Evans throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Evans throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stabler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Evans as he avoids it easily. Evans thuds a left hand into Stabler's body. Stabler ducks under a wild hook from Evans. Stabler tries for a takedown but Evans sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Marcus Evans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elliot Stabler. Evans looks to score with a jab to the body but Stabler is just out of range. Evans jabbing away but nothing is landing. No luck for Stabler with that takedown attempt. Evans misses with a body shot.
Evans ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Stabler shoots in looking for a takedown. Evans tries to sprawl out of it but Stabler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Evans manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Stabler looks gassed! Evans takes a swing at Stabler's ribcage but misses. Stabler is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Evans is controlling him. Evans postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Stabler taking some punishment here, with Evans in his half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Evans lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Marcus Evans overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Evans trying to control but he's not successful this time. Stabler is trying desperately to improve position. Evans will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Evans breaks from Stabler's wrist control and lands an elbow. Stabler taking shots to the head. Stabler wants to hold on but Evans pushes him away. Evans lands a big shot there that rocks Stabler but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Evans lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Stabler hang on? Evans blocks Stabler's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Evans breaks from Stabler's wrist control and lands an elbow. Evans with a couple of short strikes. Evans unloading with bombs! Stabler can't escape the position.

Evans throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stabler can do anything to dispel that myth. Evans throwing strikes but Stabler bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top. Stabler manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Stabler shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Evans counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stabler's guard now. Evans content to stall in guard here. Stabler is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Evans is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Stabler's half guard. Evans is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Stabler wants to get back to his feet.
