The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Samoliov misses the target.
Samoliov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Taylor.
Samoliov throws a nice looking combination but Taylor bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Samoliov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Taylor circles away quickly and effectively.

No joy there for Samoliov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Samoliov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Taylor drives through and clinches with Samoliov against the cage.
Taylor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Samoliov moves out of range of the leg kick from Taylor.

Taylor drives through with a takedown into guard.
Samoliov should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Taylor decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Samoliov, up you get!
Samoliov throws a right hand that Taylor ducks under and follows up with a left that Taylor also avoids with ease.
Taylor drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Samoliov gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's time! Taylor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Taylor uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Samoliov.
Samoliov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Taylor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Taylor tries to bum rush Samoliov with a series of wild strikes but Samoliov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Samoliov falls off balance throwing a combination
and Taylor counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Taylor distracts Samoliov with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Taylor's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taylor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Taylor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Taylor slips nicely into half guard.
Taylor is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Samoliov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Taylor.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Taylor is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Taylor throws a strike but Samoliov avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Taylor gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Taylor is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Samoliov has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Samoliov!

Taylor has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Samoliov! Can he survive? No! He's out! Taylor gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
