Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Henry Chinaski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Spiller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henry Chinaski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Spiller! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spiller shoots in for a double leg but Chinaski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Spiller throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Spiller takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Chinaski thows a body shot but no joy. Spiller fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Spiller keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Chinaski. Spiller swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Chinaski counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Spiller tries for a takedown but Chinaski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Henry Chinaski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Spiller. Spiller takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Spiller looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Chinaski! Chinaski regains half guard. Spiller lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chinaski wants to get back to full guard. Chinaski is looking to control Spiller's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chinaski avoid being mounted? Chinaski wants to get back to full guard. Spiller throws a strike but Chinaski avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Spiller wanted to stand there but Chinaski had control of the position. Chinaski keeping moving, preventing Spiller from controlling successfully. Chinaski is controlling Spiller's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Spiller trying to control the position from guard on top but Chinaski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Chinaski defending well as Spiller loads up on a big left hand. Spiller shoots for a double leg takedown but Chinaski sprawls well. He's pushed Spiller's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A big left from Chinaski misses. David Spiller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chinaski throws out a leg kick but Spiller moves out of range and Chinaski only half commits. A nice inside leg kick there by Chinaski. That's going to slow Spiller down. Chinaski jabs at Spiller's body. Spiller looks gassed! Chinaski swinging wildly here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chinaski lands a left and a right that send Spiller crashing to the mat, dazed. Chinaski thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Spiller takes a shot right to the bread basket. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Spiller walks into a stiff left hand from Chinaski. Chinaski throws a nice inside leg kick. Spiller moves forwards but Chinaski connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Spiller is rocked! Spiller loses concentration momentarily and Chinaski pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Spiller crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Chinaski finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Henry Chinaski!
