Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dave Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toniboi Ydel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Toniboi Ydel! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Ydel, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Ydel against the cage but Ydel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones. Ydel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ydel misses with a wild combination.
Jones scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Jones wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ydel is pressing down on Jones's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ydel is proving hard to escape from. Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ydel on the ground. Ydel looking for a sweep. Not yet Ydel, not yet. Ydel scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Dave Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ydel tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Jones steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Ydel. That one must have hurt. Jones is breathing heavily. Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Jones prevents Ydel from standing back up.
Ydel kicks off Jones and gets to his feet. Ydel wants to clinch. Jones blocks a head kick by Ydel.
Ydel connects with a high kick. Ydel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ydel breaks the clinch.
Ydel circles away from the clinch attempt and Ydel counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jones's knee momentarily. Ydel circles away from the clinch attempt and Ydel counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ydel showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.
Ydel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target. Jones misses with a takedown and Ydel counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ydel is trying to get an arm triangle but Jones is defending well. Jones is looking to get back to his feet here but Ydel is keeping cool and he's managed to take Jones's back. Jones tries to roll but Ydel sticks to his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ydel is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Jones defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Jones is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Ydel controlling the position well here. Jones rolled but Ydel kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Toniboi Ydel dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jones lands with a nice combination. Ydel backs away looking to recover. Ydel circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ydel gets a clinch. Ydel lands a good knee to the midsection. Jones won't want to take too many of those. Jones looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Ydel drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jones gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Ydel fails with the takedown and Jones counters with a two punch combo. Dave Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toniboi Ydel. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ydel avoids it really well and circles away. Ydel gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ydel has Jones pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ydel pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Jones tumbling to the mat - Ydel dives into Jones's guard. Jones looking to control.
Jones wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Jones wants to get back to his feet but Ydel is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jones wants to get back to his feet but Ydel passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ydel controlling the action here. Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jones is looking to control Ydel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jones avoid being mounted? Ydel prevents Jones from standing back up.
Ydel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jones looks like he's trying to stand up.

Toniboi Ydel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ydel shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Nice sprawl there from Ydel as Jones shoots in. Ydel fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jones instigates a clinch. Jones is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ydel gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ydel manages to break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jones struggling a bit here. Jones wants to get back to his feet but Ydel drags him back down. Ydel working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Jones sneaks out the side door and pushes Ydel away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jones rushes Ydel and presses him up against the cage. Jones jumps guard and drags Ydel to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Ydel is stalling in the full guard. Jones has his feet on Ydel's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Ydel shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jones misses with a few strikes there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones drives through and clinches with Ydel against the cage.
Jones lands a hook to the side of the head. Ydel has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment. Jones is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Ydel can't fight it off and eventually Jones manages to take the fight to the floor. Ydel looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Ydel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ydel trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ydel is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control. Jones pushes Ydel off and scrambles back to his feet.
Jones takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Dave Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones fails with the takedown. Jones closes the distance but Ydel moves to the side and Ydel counters with a nice leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Toniboi Ydel. Well Ydel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
