PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Lonestar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lonestar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Would?. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jacobs closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lonestar to the mat! Lonestar manages to get full guard.

Lonestar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jacobs defends well.
Lonestar can't keep his opponent in guard - Jacobs advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Jacobs is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lonestar wants to get back to his feet.
Lonestar is looking to control Jacobs's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lonestar avoid being mounted?

Jacobs seems to be working for a kimura but Lonestar defends the submission attempt.

Jacobs looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lonestar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jacobs on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lonestar wants to control but Jacobs passes into side.
Jacobs tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Lonestar tries to improve position but can't.
Lonestar really is a fat lump.

Jacobs is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lonestar knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Lonestar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jacobs wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lonestar, who protects the arm well.

Jacobs tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jacobs has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lonestar is pushing Jacobs's head away, looking to escape. Jacobs manages to hold on to the position though.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Jacobs has hold of Lonestar's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Lonestar tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Jacobs cranks the arm and Lonestar screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Lonestar, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
