Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reginald Low Ears! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ivan Kolobkow! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kolobkow fails with a takedown attempt. Low Ears is looking to clinch. Low Ears wants to clinch. Low Ears cracks Kolobkow with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
It looks like Ivan Kolobkow has been cut. Kolobkow looks gassed! Low Ears is looking to clinch but Kolobkow is avoiding it.
Low Ears looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Low Ears content to stall in guard here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kolobkow can do anything to dispel that myth. Low Ears has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Low Ears seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kolobkow for as long as he can get away with. Low Ears is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Low Ears pushing down on Kolobkow's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Low Ears controlling the pace. Low Ears wants to pass to mount but Kolobkow is defending the position. Still in half guard, Low Ears seems content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Reginald Low Ears just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Low Ears lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kolobkow doesn't succeed with the takedown and Low Ears counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Low Ears. Low Ears lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kolobkow backwards. Low Ears lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kolobkow tries to get to full guard but Low Ears has control of the leg. Low Ears is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Low Ears is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kolobkow is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Reginald Low Ears!
