Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Hellwig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar comes to the cage accompanied by Drowning Pool Let the bodys hit the Floor.. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Hellwig!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar shoots in and drives through. Hellwig sprawls well.
Hellwig leaves Lesnar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Lesnar.
Lesnar working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Hellwig wants to control but Lesnar postures up.
Hellwig holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hellwig is looking for a sweep.
Lesnar goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hellwig has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lesnar but great work by Hellwig.

Hellwig takes a little break here. Lesnar wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
You can see the frustration on Lesnar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lesnar is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Hellwig tries to move to mount but Lesnar blocks the move with his legs.

Hellwig slows the pace down.
Hellwig is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lesnar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Lesnar can't do much from the bottom here.

Lesnar seems a little lost for a moment, as Hellwig dominates the positioning.
Lesnar tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lesnar is trying to control Hellwig's posture but Hellwig avoids it.

Lesnar is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hellwig connects with a decent elbow.

Hellwig postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lesnar looks a forlorn figure.

Hellwig pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Hellwig has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hellwig wants to finish this one by submission but Lesnar is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hellwig.
Hellwig postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Lesnar badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Hellwig around the waist but Hellwig pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Hellwig is the winner by TKO! Hellwig jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Hellwig!
