The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson looks to throw the jab but gardon is out of range.
gardon misses with a head kick.
Nice defenses there by gardon.
gardon shoots in but no luck this time.
Jackson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
gardon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.

Jackson looks to land a combination but gardon avoids it well.

gardon shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jackson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

gardon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jackson swings for the body but gardon moves out of range.

and gardon counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jackson!

Jackson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jackson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jackson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as gardon is looking to escape.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
gardon tries to get back to half guard but can't.
gardon tries to hold on but Jackson pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

gardon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing gardon off to one side.
Jackson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but gardon checks it well.
Jackson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and gardon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by gardon.
Jackson is trying to break free.
gardon goes for a takedown attempt but Jackson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for gardon on that attempt.
