Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raiden Hayashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raiden Hayashi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Powell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Raiden Hayashi! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayashi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Powell sprawls well. Powell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hayashi gets slowly back to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Hayashi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Powell fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Powell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hayashi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hayashi clinches. Hayashi tries a knee to the head but Powell blocks it.

Powell prevents the takedown attempt.
Richard Powell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raiden Hayashi. Hayashi drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Powell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hayashi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Powell fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Powell shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hayashi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Hayashi looks gassed! Powell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Hayashi tries to close the distance and clinch but Powell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Powell has taken the fight to the clinch.
Powell manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powell fails in his attempt to clinch. Powell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hayashi is trying to defend but Powell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Powell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hayashi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Hayashi is looking to improve his position.
Hayashi pushes Powell off and gets back to his feet. Powell moves into the clinch successfully.
Hayashi tries to score a body lock takedown but Powell shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Powell manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Powell wants to stand up but Hayashi is controlling him. Hayashi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Powell is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hayashi, into his guard. Powell with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powell stands up from Hayashi's guard - Powell perhaps looking for a knockout. Powell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Powell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Powell lands a nice short elbow. Powell decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hayashi fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Powell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hayashi's guard. Hayashi throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powell stands up from Hayashi's guard - Powell perhaps looking for a knockout. Powell clinches with his opponent.
Powell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hayashi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Powell but Powell pushes him off and we're back to square one. Powell forces Hayashi back against the cage and clinches. Powell comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Hayashi looking for a takedown. Powell lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hayashi is trying to stand.
Powell decides to stand and escape the position. Powell throws a series of strikes that have Hayashi backpedaling.
Powell fails with a takedown attempt. Powell moves into range and clinches up with Hayashi.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Powell pulls Hayashi into guard.
Hayashi wants to pass the guard but Powell is keeping the position. Hayashi wants to stand and escape but instead Powell has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Powell is working Hayashi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hayashi keeping moving, preventing Powell from controlling successfully. Powell works over Hayashi with some ground and pound from guard. Powell drops back looking for a leg! Hayashi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hayashi manages to kick Powell off! Powell jumps back into Hayashi's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Powell landing with the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Richard Powell dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hayashi fails with the takedown. Powell closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hayashi did well to prevent Powell getting side control. Richard Powell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Powell stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Powell closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Powell lands in his opponent's guard. Powell stands up from guard. Let's bang! Powell feints and as Hayashi raises his hands in defense, Powell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Powell gets to his feet. Hayashi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Powell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hayashi swats him away and circles back towards the center. Powell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hayashi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Powell pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hayashi tries to keep at a distance but Powell has taken the fight into the clinch. Powell breaks the clinch.
Raiden Hayashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayashi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Powell. Powell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hayashi can do to turn this around? Powell moves into the clinch. Powell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hayashi wants to clinch but Powell slips to the side and Powell counters by clinching up. Hayashi with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Powell lands an elbow inside that Hayashi shrugs off. Hayashi wants a takedown.

Powell lands an elbow inside. Powell jumps guard and drags Hayashi to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Powell manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Powell postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Hayashi bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Powell and the fight is over!
