The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Chase. No joy for Thompson on that attempt.
Chase tries for a takedown but Thompson circles away easily
and Thompson counters with a takedown into side control.
Chase is looking to reverse the position.
Thompson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Chase rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Thompson's guard! Nice work there by Chase!
Chase postures up in Thompson's guard and throws a big left but Thompson blocks it.

and Thompson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Chase's guard.

Thompson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chase's waist but Chase gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thompson off to one side.

Chase is squirming around, avoiding Thompson's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Thompson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
