PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pep Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernandez has chosen Superstar-Lupe Fiasco as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hernandez smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

It looks like Renzo Gracie has been cut.
Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hernandez defends it nicely.
Hernandez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hernandez but Hernandez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Gracie. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Hernandez wants to get back to his feet but Gracie is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hernandez defends it well.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hernandez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hernandez won't allow Gracie to pass to mount.

Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hernandez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hernandez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hernandez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gracie is really squeezing tight and eventually Hernandez passes out! Gracie breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
