Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Austin Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronaldo Elliente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Give it Away. Ronaldo Elliente has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Austin Smith! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronaldo Elliente! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith gets a takedown into half guard. Elliente is refusing to be controlled, as Smith sits in half guard. Smith thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Elliente to regain full guard. Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Smith preventing the sweep. Smith wants to control from the top but Elliente keeps moving. Smith preventing the sweep. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith postures up.
Smith throws and elbow that misses. Elliente uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by Elliente! Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Elliente gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Smith looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Smith controls Elliente momentarily but Elliente frees himself. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Smith looking for subs off his back but Elliente has passed one foot through into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Elliente pulls his head out easily. Elliente wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it. Smith trying to control here.

Elliente pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smith is keeping the position for now. Elliente trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Elliente is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Elliente might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smith kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Elliente avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Elliente stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jab by Smith. Smith misses with a low kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Austin Smith dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Smith throws a right and a left that Elliente avoids nicely. Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Smith wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Elliente, who protects the arm well. Smith controls the position from side control. Smith trying to control the action but Elliente is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Smith throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Smith trying to control the action but Elliente is working from the bottom. Smith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Elliente is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Check out the look on Smith's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Elliente is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Smith wants to control but Elliente is keeping him busy. Elliente prevents Smith from moving into mount. Smith happy to just control the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Smith tries to move to mount but Elliente blocks the move with his legs.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Smith misses with the combination.
Smith cracks a nice hook into Elliente's ribs. Austin Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith scores with a jab to the head.
Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Elliente's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith trying to control but Elliente is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Austin Smith dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Smith connects with a good right hand that stumbles Elliente. Elliente circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Smith misses with a wild combination.
Austin Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Smith thows a body shot but no joy. Elliente ducks under a wild hook from Smith. Smith cracks Elliente with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Elliente does a little dance to reset his feet. Smith shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Elliente napping and manages to drive through into side control! Elliente tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smith wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Smith is looking to take a break and control but Elliente is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Elliente is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Smith swings around for an armbar but Elliente sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Smith's guard. Smith had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Elliente defends it easily. Smith looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Elliente wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Elliente won't allow Smith to sweep him here. Smith working a defensive guard but Elliente passes into half guard.
Elliente seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Smith works his way to full guard. Good work. Smith wants to improve his position but instead Elliente has moved into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Elliente's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Elliente's back! Smith is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Elliente has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Elliente is trying to break free.
Elliente is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Elliente just trying to survive but Smith is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Smith lands punches and elbows. Smith has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Elliente is defending well but eventually Smith manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Elliente has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
