Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson's entrance music is Never Can Say Goodbye. A fine choice. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Kevin Spencer enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roy Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Spencer! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson swats away the attempt to clinch by Spencer. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Nelson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Spencer's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Spencer duly obliges. Spencer scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Nelson doesn't seem bothered though. Nelson tries for a takedown but Spencer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Spencer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nelson. Spencer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nelson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Spencer postures up in Nelson's guard and throws a big left but Nelson blocks it. Nelson pulls Spencer in close to prevent any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spencer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Spencer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nelson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Spencer has managed to get both his arms back between Nelson's legs - danger averted. Nelson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nelson tries to get out of the position. Spencer working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Nelson's head. Spencer throws a big right hand that misses. Nelson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spencer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Spencer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Spencer being controlled here momentarily. Spencer postures up in Nelson's guard and throws a big left but Nelson blocks it. Spencer throwing strikes from guard but Nelson blocks nicely.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nelson swings and misses with a shot to the body and Spencer counters with a nice uppercut. Nelson misses with a takedown attempt and Spencer counters by moving into the clinch. Nelson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Nelson is breathing heavily. Spencer tries to kick Nelson off but Nelson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Nelson seems content to control. Nelson stops Spencer from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Spencer pushes Nelson off looking to stand but Nelson dives back in and keeps control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nelson in particular looking to stall. Nelson wants to take a breather but Spencer is having none of it. Nelson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Nelson is trying to control the action in half guard but Spencer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Roy Nelson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Spencer lands with a straight right. Nelson didn't see that one coming.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Danga de danga de dang - Spencer scores with a four punch combination! Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Spencer!
Nelson shoots in for a takedown but Spencer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Spencer clinches with his opponent.
Nelson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Spencer gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Spencer has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nelson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Nelson prevents the takedown attempt.
Spencer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nelson walks away with a smile on his face. Spencer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Nelson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Spencer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Spencer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Spencer misses with the ground and pound. Nelson sneaks back into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nelson trying to hold on to Spencer's head to control him but Spencer postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Spencer dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Nelson misses with a takedown attempt and Spencer makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Spencer lands a nice looking body shot.
Spencer shoots in and drives through. Nelson sprawls well. Spencer shoots in but Nelson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nelson fails with the takedown. Nelson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Spencer's half guard. Spencer tries to kick Nelson off but Nelson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Nelson not doing much here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Nelson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Spencer controls his leg. Spencer is trying to stand.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nelson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Nelson stops Spencer from getting back to his feet.

Very smooth. Nelson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nelson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Spencer keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spencer wants to get back to his feet but Nelson drags him back down. Nelson slows the pace down. Spencer is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Nelson is controlling him well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nelson controlling the position. Spencer wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spencer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Spencer. Spencer connects with a jab. Nelson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Spencer counters with a lovely straight right hand! Nelson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nelson lands in his opponent's guard. Nelson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Spencer wants to stand and escape but Nelson is having none of it. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nelson wants to control from the top but Spencer keeps moving.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Roy Nelson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Spencer lands a head shot. Spencer swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Nelson. Spencer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nelson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Spencer cracks a nice hook into Nelson's ribs. Spencer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Spencer. Spencer misses with a double jab.
Spencer rushes Nelson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Spencer is pressed up against the cage. Nelson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Spencer down to the mat. Spencer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Nelson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Spencer defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nelson misses with a takedown attempt - Spencer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nelson with a lazy takedown attempt and Nelson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Horrible takedown by Nelson or perhaps it was just good defense by Spencer which made him look bad. Spencer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. A right-left combo lands from Spencer. Excellent takedown into side control there by Nelson. Spencer being controlled for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spencer avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Nelson. Nelson tries to move to mount but Spencer blocks the move with his legs. Nelson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that's the end of the fight! Roy Nelson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Nelson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
