Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pete Dunham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vincent Obor! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good standup being displayed there by Dunham as he connects with a hook. Dunham lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Obor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dunham to the mat! Dunham manages to get full guard. Obor wants to stand but Dunham has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dunham keeping moving, preventing Obor from controlling successfully. Dunham on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dunham tries to get out of the position. Obor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dunham swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dunham preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Obor throws a strike but Dunham rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Dunham won't allow Obor to get back to his feet. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Obor looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Obor wants to get back to his feet but Dunham is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Obor uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dunham. Dunham shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Obor's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Obor is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Obor tries to land a sweep but no joy. Dunham postures up.
Obor keeping moving, preventing Dunham from controlling successfully. Dunham gets to his feet. Obor looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dunham scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Obor doesn't seem bothered though. Obor looks gassed! Dunham rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Obor moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dunham tests Obor's chin there with a solid looking shot. Obor tries to clinch up. Dunham throws a low kick, looking for Obor's leg but Obor calmly moves out of range. Obor tries for a takedown but Dunham circles away easily and Dunham counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Obor drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Dunham with a body punch. A glancing blow. Dunham dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Dunham lands a slapping body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Obor moves forwards but Dunham connects with a nice, crisp jab. Dunham lands a two punch combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dunham works Obor's body with a nice hook. Good standup being displayed there by Dunham as he connects with a hook.
Obor is rocked! A big right from Dunham misses. Obor is still on wobbly legs! Can Dunham finish him? Obor blocks a jab. Obor seems to have recovered his senses. Dunham is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Obor has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Obor there as he acknowledges the shot. Dunham walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Obor drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Dunham swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Obor's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pete Dunham!
