Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Khalil Malla! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marc Heely! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heely misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Malla decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Malla wants to free his trapped foot but Heely is holding on for dear life with his legs. Malla stops Heely from getting back to his feet.
Malla decides to stand and escape the position. Heely tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Malla blocks a head kick by Heely.

Malla really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Malla avoids the head kick by Heely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heely throws a right and a left that both miss. Heely looks gassed! Heely will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Marc Heely is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Heely throws a head kick but Malla moves out of range.
Malla drives through with a takedown into guard. Malla thows a big elbow that misses. Malla sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Heely's guard. Malla has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Well, if Malla is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Heely keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Malla is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Heely defends it well. Malla is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Heely! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Malla throws some wild stikes that Heely manages to avoid easily.
Malla is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Heely is forced to tap! Great finish!
