Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carsten Brian Kassler! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Kassler. No joy for Jones on that attempt. Kassler throws a lazy right hand but Jones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kassler sprawls well. Kassler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. Jordan Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones shoots in for a takedown but Kassler shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jordan Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kassler has his takedown stuffed and Jones counters with a nice double leg into guard. Kassler can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace. Kassler is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kassler can't keep his opponent in guard - Jones advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Kassler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kassler holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Jones is looking for a kimura but Kassler is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage. Jones thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Kassler to regain full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kassler looks gassed! Kassler is trying to keep Jones in close.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Kassler is retaining full guard. Kassler controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kassler can do anything to dispel that myth. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jones has his takedown stuffed and Kassler counters with a nice double leg into guard. Kassler's corner is telling him to maintain position. Jones keeping moving, preventing Kassler from controlling successfully. Kassler looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones passes Kassler's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kassler sees it coming and defends easily. Kassler trying to hold on to Jones's head to control him but Jones postures up.
Jones wants to take a breather but Kassler is having none of it. Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kassler defends it well. Jones seems to be looking for submissions.

A head kick misses from Kassler. Jones tries for a takedown but Kassler circles away easily and Kassler counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jones's guard now. Jones looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Kassler trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kassler is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kassler loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kassler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Kassler controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jordan Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kassler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kassleris looking to pass into half guard but Jones pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jones is in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Jones drops back looking for a leg! Kassler is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kassler manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Kassler's guard. Jones trying to control but Kassler is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones stands and throws Kassler's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kassler takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Kassler is looking to get back to full guard here but Jones has managed to pass to side control instead. Jones throwing strikes here but Kassler is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Jones goes for an armbar but Kassler turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kassler. Kassler wants to stand but Jones has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones wants to sweep here but Kassler controlling him for the moment. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jones holds on and takes a little breather. Kassler looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jordan Jones. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
