Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Karim Chamakh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viorel Gradea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chamakh comes to the cage accompanied by Linda Sundblad - To All My Girls. The crowd seem to be enjoying Gradea's choice of entrance music: bag pula-n lume si v-o fac cadou. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Viorel Gradea! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chamakh swats away the attempt to clinch by Gradea. A leg kick checked by Chamakh. Chamakh showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gradea.
Chamakh shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Chamakh has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Chamakh looking to pass the guard. Chamakh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Gradea is looking to stand up but Chamakh isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chamakh tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Chamakh punching from mount but Gradea doing a good job of avoiding damage. Gradea wants to control but Chamakh is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gradea blocking the ground and pound. Chamakh controlling from mount. Chamakh has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gradea's face.

Chamakh closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Chamakh in side control, throwing shots but Gradea defends. Gradea is letting Chamakh control him for a moment. Chamakh working the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gradea gets back to half guard. Chamakh with the ground and pound but Gradea uses the opportunity to regain guard. Chamakh throws a strike but Gradea rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chamakh looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Chamakh looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Gradea wants to control from the top but Chamakh keeps moving. Chamakh wants to sweep here but Gradea controlling him for the moment. Gradea won't allow Chamakh to get back to his feet. Gradea gets to his feet. Chamakh looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Gradea gets a clinch. Chamakh has Gradea pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gradea manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Gradea prevents the takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A right hook to the body lands for Gradea.
Gradea has Chamakh pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gradea pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Chamakh tumbling to the mat - Gradea dives into Chamakh's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chamakh has his feet on Gradea's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Gradea gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. That was a close second round but I would say that Karim Chamakh will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Chamakh throwing strikes but missing. Gradea working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Chamakh.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Chamakh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gradea manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Chamakh landing some decent shots from guard. Gradea looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Karim Chamakh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chamakh won't allow Gradea to get back to his feet. Chamakh tries to free his leg and advance position but Gradea is retaining full guard. Gradea takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Chamakh not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Chamakh advances to half guard. Chamakh performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gradea has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chamakh is working away from the top position though. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chamakh in particular looking to stall. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! Karim Chamakh showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chamakh, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
