Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pit Jonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Commodus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pit Jonson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maximus Commodus!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jonson is defended easily by Commodus.
Commodus defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jonson.
Jonson closes the distance and clinches up with Commodus, looking for a takedown. Jonson pushes Commodus against the cage but Commodus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pit Jonson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jonson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Commodus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jonson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Commodus is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jonson shoots in but Commodus avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jonson shoots for a takedown but Commodus saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jonson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jonson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Commodus is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Jonson reaches up to try and control the position but Commodus seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Jonson rolls and tries to escape and now Commodus has his back!

Jonson is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Commodus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jonson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jonson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Commodus can do anything to dispel that myth.

Commodus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jonson is aware though and is defending well.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Jonson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jonson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Commodus really wants to buck Jonson off and get back to his feet.

Jonson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Commodus for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jonson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Commodus is trying desperately to improve position.
Jonson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Commodus gets to his feet - Jonson follows without any prompting.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jonson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Commodus's waist but Commodus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jonson off to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Maximus Commodus will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pit Jonson.
Well Commodus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
