1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ditrich Wandemayer! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Overdreem throws a head kick but Wandemayer moves out of range.
Wandemayer looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Overdreem tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wandemayer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Overdreem throws a head kick but Wandemayer moves out of range.

Wandemayer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wandemayer lands in his opponent's guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Wandemayer won't allow Overdreem to get back to his feet. Wandemayer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Overdreem wants to stand and escape but Wandemayer is having none of it. Wandemayer drops back looking for a leg! Overdreem is in trouble here! Overdreem is keeping the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wandemayer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Wandemayer stops Overdreem from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Overdreem connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Wandemayer to the floor! Overdreem dives in looking for the finish!

It looks like Ditrich Wandemayer has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Overdreem wants to stand but Wandemayer has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Overdreem trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Overdreem keeps Wandemayer at a distance using the push kick. Overdreem throws a head kick but Wandemayer moves out of range.

Overdreem tries to clinch up. Overdreem tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Overdreem tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Wandemayer paws at him with a jab and circles away. Overdreem goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Wandemayer blocks a head kick by Overdreem.
Wandemayer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Wandemayer is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Overdreem sees it coming and defends easily. Wandemayer is pressing down on Overdreem's thigh, looking to free his foot. Overdreem is holding on for now. Overdreem is trying to stand back up but Wandemayer is controlling him
Wandemayer is trying to control. Overdreem wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Overdreem is trying to stand up here but Wandemayer is controlling him well. Wandemayer is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wandemayer is looking for a kimura but Overdreem is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wandemayer to get the leverage. Wandemayer stops Overdreem from getting back to his feet.

Wandemayer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wandemayer with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Wandemayer wants to finish this one by submission but Overdreem is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Wandemayer. Overdreem is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Overdreem is squirming around, avoiding Wandemayer's attempts to control the action. Wandemayer is working for a guillotine from mount but Overdreem frees his head quite easily.
Overdreem is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Wandemayer is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Overdreem is surviving well by controlling Wandemayer's body position as best he can. Wandemayer is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Wandemayer extends the arm and Overdreem is forced to tap!
