Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Retri Paladin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Geoge ST Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paladin looks to throw the jab but ST Pierre is out of range.
ST Pierre shoots in and drives through. Paladin sprawls well.
No joy there for Paladin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
No luck with that takedown attempt from ST Pierre.
Paladin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Paladin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Paladin throws a jab but it's blocked by ST Pierre.
Paladin stuffs the takedown attempt from ST Pierre. ST Pierre gets slowly back to his feet.
Retri Paladin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Geoge ST Pierre.
Paladin scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. ST Pierre doesn't seem bothered though.
ST Pierre looks gassed!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
ST Pierre closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
It looks like Geoge ST Pierre has been cut.
Paladin ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Paladin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Paladin scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
ST Pierre takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nice body punch from Paladin.
That's one minute gone in the round.
ST Pierre walks into a jab.
Paladin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent ST Pierre stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Paladin connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt ST Pierre! He's out on his feet! Paladin rushes in and drops ST Pierre with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Retri Paladin!
